I have never found Gates to be great or even good in-game coach. His first year he said he didn't like TOs. He wanted players to figure it out on the court. That still shows. No foul and left a hot shooter get off a tying shot.. No TOs when the other teams go on a significant run. Somebody, even and assistant , should be chewing butt about defense.
