last year. Using current rankings, every game past the first round will require beating a ranked team. You can't say that about the NCAA Tournament. One ranked team may not get a first round bye. There is argument to be had that a couple more SEC teams might be ranked if they were in a different conference. Vanderbilt has played against more top 25 teams than almost every team in any other conference. They might look like St. John's if they were in the Big East.
