My favorite Mike Leach stories.
Some guy is standing on the sideline with Mike during a practice at Texas Tech. Nobody knew who he was. They find out later he was a homeless guy that leach ran into on his way into practice and he invites him to visit with him on the sideline during practice.
The other one that comes to mind - Leach loved to talk about anything and everything. When he was in the QB room at Washington State, they’d be winding down a meeting - and then the 3rd string QB would ask him a question about history or politics…..,and Leach would start in on a 45 dissertation that has nothing to do with football - while the other QB’s in the room are staring daggers at the 3rd string QB and he was doing his best to cover his mouth and stifle laughing. 🤣 🤣
