Seems pretty absolute to me.
And that sort of job was described as a P5 job.
"If we make it to the Playoffs this year, his upside would be much greater than Fresno State, without the risk of falling out of P5".
There is no one way to get a P5 job is my point. There are plenty of examples of both starting your HC career at a non-power school and also being hired directly as a coordinator.
