If memory serves:

Dr. John Schwada served as Chancellor at Mizzou during the 1965 - 1970 period and as President of Arizona State from 1971 - 1981.

Dr. V. A. Metcalf (PhD - Mizzou) served as Schwada's assistant during the latter's tenure as Chancellor at Mizzou and as Vice President for Administration at ASU. His duties at ASU included the Sun Devil Athletic Department and the development of ASU's successful application to join what became the PAC Twelve.
