Various local media sources in Arizona are reporting that Arizona State University will not require the Sun Devil Athletic Department to pay approximately 313 million dollars of debt owed by the Athletic Department to the University or third parties.ASU President Michael Crowe (sp?) has announced the debt has been “eliminated”. Presumably, the debt owed to third parties will be paid by ASU, but the Sun Devil Athletic Department will not be required to reimburse the ASU administration for the payments.

Reportedly ASU’s athletic department debt is exceeded by only CAL Berkeley’s approx 420 million of athletic department debt.
