MU is going to dry up into dust and blow away in athletic relevancy in sports. Now hoops MAY be the one area MU will be able to challenge for something (all schools can say this if they land the right coach) but baseball and football are toast in the SEC. MU is simply not in the same league as most of the SEC in those sports and everybody knows it around the country . MU is the laughingstock of the league with its small fanbase, low interest in the state and general apathetic history ….all coupled with a meh recruiting base that mostly wants to go elsewhere where they can win big.
Choosing irrelevancy is one dumb decision to me. But by Gawd if MU didn’t choose it. Mizzou’d again.
Note: Those schools joining B12 all depends on the B10 who is still shopping out west. I would say it is 50/50 the pac 12 implodes. Even without them it isn’t a midmajor. The Valley is a midmajor. And frankly, who cares? I don’t think a North Dakota State, Nw Missouri State, etc., would trade their sports history for finishing at the bottom of leagues they are ill suited for. They are more widely respected in sports circles than Mizzou who is just a happy idiot sitting at the cool kid table while getting mocked to their face.
Awesome place to be indeed. Enjoy!
