Following up on blue tiger thoughts on our offense last night was three players…as was stated everyone else together scored 7 points and took 9 shots.
Georgia really worked hard to guard the three and it worked , with the exception of Franks wild run of three in the 4th quarter.
What I saw … realistically Troup and Dembele don’t add much.
Dembele is fun and quick but not really much of a successful distributor.
Troup has had a nice , long run and MU , but just too slow to be effective.
So we have two very nice players in Blackwell and Frank, an erratic but creative shooter in Hansen ,and for the most part little to no post player . Once Staiti caught the entry pass last night she could basically shoot unguarded . No one big enough to contest the shot.
As was previously mentioned , 5 post players on the bench , but no one to help down low.
I had , have hopes for Higginbottom, but she’s basically had her floor game neutered, and plays little. I hope she sticks around.
Until and when MU brings in a competitive post player, and some athletic , physical guards they’ll be bottom third SEC.
I hope MU gets a bid . If I had to wager ….i doubt it…..yet this team does have hot shooting nights…so…
