There will be a couple teams dropping out of the top 25 for sure. #24 South Florida did not have a good week, beating Tulane but then losing badly yesterday to a decent but unranked UCF team 67-51. And #25 Kansas St had a tough week, losing to #9 Iowa State by 3 in a good game (no disgrace there), and then getting destroyed by Texas Tech by 19 (big disgrace there).
Who moves in to replace them? Who knows, as there is not a lot of difference between the teams in the 21-30 spots. Someone will move into the top 25 by default, here are the candidates from the leading teams receiving votes last week:
#26 FGCU: Beat Kennesaw St and a good Liberty team
#27 Iowa: Beat a decent Purdue team that nearly beat #6 Indiana yesterday in OT, and beat a good Nebraska team yesterday by 10.
#28 Ohio St: Beat Michigan St and Minnesota.
#29 Mo St: Lost to N. Iowa, beat Drake
#30 DePaul: Lost to Marquette, beat Villanova
#31 Missouri: Lost to #12 LSU in OT.
So really no one making a charge. Iowa is probably most deserving. I think Mo St and DePaul will lose some votes after losses, while Mizzou will gain some support after our impressive performance against LSU on the road.
I suppose 2/3 of FGCU/Iowa/Ohio St sneaks back in by default. And Mizzou will edge closer, jumping a few teams but not quite getting there.
