it would be the Big 10s way of saying, "Okay, we give up. You can have football, while we take basketball"

KU has a horrible football program and footprint with a basketball program under the shroud of an FBI investigation. They only thing they bring to the table is a program under Federal Investigation.

The Big 10 (even though I hate them) is premiere enough that they wouldn't need to look at any "leftover" schools. They are still big enough, with enough $ clout, to poach from the Pac10 and ACC and may still go after Notre Dame.

They don't need to resort to adding leftovers.

At least, not yet.

If the rumors are true of Clemson and Florida State talking already with the SEC... the ACC will die and the Big 10 will be swarming.
