it should be about everything that has happened since the Big 12 inception.
The timeline shows how every conference besides the Big East and Big 12 was proactive and expanding, while they slept and did nothing.
The Big 12's only moves since inception was a reactive move to add TCU and West Virginia after losing 4 vital brands.
The Big East has rebuilt completely into a new conference (AAC) and they are aggressive in their approach to adding markets and acquiring a TV deal. They are now going after the entire Big 12.
ACC Expansion 2004-05
In 2004-05, The ACC siphoned off the Big East in the early part of the century, taking Miami, Virginia Tech and Boston College.
PAC10 Expansion 2010
6 years after the ACC demoralized the Big East, The PAC10 expanded by raiding the Big 12 of Colorado and getting Utah from the WAC/MWC.
Big10 Expansion 2010
The Big 10 responded by taking Nebraska from the Big 12 - the biggest name to relocate thus far. A seismic shift in the future of college athletics.
SEC 2011
Took Texas A&M and Mizzou in 2011 from Big 12 - nearly killing the Big 12 altogether
Big 12 2011
The Big 12 responds by adding TCU and West Virginia. They refuse to accept BYU and don't even consider Memphis, Cincinnati or Houston.
ACC Expansion Part II 2013
They raid the Big East again and take Syracuse, Louisville and Pittsburgh, as well as Notre Dame as an affiliate member.
Big East/AAC Expansion and Creation 2013
The Big East responds with a basketball only conference, creating the AAC to take it's place in football. They take the remaining Big East programs and add UCF, Houston, SMU and Memphis.
Big 10 Expansion Part II 2014
The Big Ten goes east and gets Rutgers from the Big East/AAC and Maryland from the ACC.
AAC Expansion 2014
The AAC continues to grow adding East Carolina, Tulane, Tulsa and Navy (recently replaced by Wichita State)
SEC Expansion Part II 2021
The SEC takes OU and Texas from the Big 12, who no longer have a single premiere program, after once having at least 4 (Texas, OU, Nebraska and A&M).
