HCEE was a good coach

HCEE was a good coach but he let his hubris & judgement get him fired, he was the literal excample of the Peter Principle.
His coaching a team led by Kristin N. to the College World Series was some of the best coaching done in the last 10 years.
His squandering of talent was just as bad. He never made Chelsea get in shape & it did him in on the field. He was a damn good hitting coach but did not know beans about pitching & let Doug Gillis lead him down a path of no return. And he either didn't care about defense or he didn't know how to coach it, his teams didn't defend small ball worth a damn. He could be charming & recruit like nobodies business except he thought Missouri Girls should want to come play for him with little to no money. He could tell stories as good as anyone & could be as big of an a**hole as only Norm Stewart could.
In the end he did not evolve or grow in his coaching & he chose to treat those around him poorly...you don't eff with a man's daughter & expect to walk away unwounded. Finally, he didn't win enough in a non-revenue sport to justify his continued employment. He was a pain in the ass to the AD. He also failed to learn the one basic rule of coaching girls that most fathers could explain in 30 seconds...boys feel well when they play well, girls play well when they feel well. It's really that simple.
