I have no problem with layups and threes. If you watched NWMSU win the DII title again that is all they shot. But that was the only similarity between their offense and CM's. The Bearcats offense had constant motion, guys cutting to the basket, other players either trailing or repositioning. They made multiple passes and constantly reset the offense. Almost every possession ended with a layup or an open three.
I saw Mizzou's entire offense just stationary too much of the time. Even if you are a spot up shooter you should be constantly repositioning yourself so there is a passing lane for the kickout. Too often our shooters just stood in one place and waited for the ball to come to them. Even when it did it resulted in contested threes instead of wide open ones.
