And to deal with them individually as they arise is inefficient and time consuming. It is why we have counts on days off. It is why we have policies on being late. It is why we have policies around technology use. Most people would handle all of those just fine without firm policies. But to maintain order you need clarity as those at the bottom who are self-focused will create issues that permeate throughout the organization.
