We are capable of beating teams ranked in the top 15-20 in the country, we’ve proved that. And Bama is not at that level. Yes, they are a good team, but not a great one. Yes they are solidly in the NCAAs as a projected 7 seed. But they are only 2-7 against SEC teams heading to the NCAAs, and both of the wins were against a struggling Miss St team. They were 0-7 against other NCAA bound conference teams. They also had a bad loss to Ole Miss. They fattened up their SEC record by going 6-1 against SEC teams who aren’t getting anywhere near the NCAA tourney.
So yeah we can beat them. Will we? Who knows. The script is always the same for this team. Several players from the group of Dickson, Dufficy, Troup and Hansen need to step up and give us 13-15 points each to supplement Blackwell, Frank and Williams.
