I’d have to say, not surprised that this years team isn’t that highly regarded.
Last years team was not competitive, and there rightly is some question as to how much improved the talent Is this year.
This team almost certainly will be better , but almost all SEC teams would seem to have talent the equal of MU.
It’s reasonable to expect Blackwell and Frank will be improved. Dufficy almost certainly will be a clear improvement over any 4 or 5 last year.
Beyond those three it’s very difficult to estimate where the improvement might come from.
Williams has very little from her time at So. Car. to indicate what she might add this year.
Dickson should help as a combo guard , but not sure where she would fall in a ranking of SEC guards.
MU’s recruiting has improved , but I would not rate this freshman class beyond mediocre when compared to SEC classes.
It’s all guesswork , that being said , I expect Dembele to be the most likely contributor of the freshman, and not a great deal from the others.
I’m looking forward to watching all these new players , and would not be surprised if they are not considerably better. After after a 9 win season , that’s a big hole to climb out of.
If this team is strong in the non conference , and handles the lower half of the SEC reasonably well , that would qualify as a good season.
