It wasn't a particularly close game, certainly not a fluke. You don't have to be scared to acknowledge the program is no where close to what it used to be.
Look at the last season we were still a serious program in 2013-14. We had nuetral site noncon games in the Sprint Center and ScottTrade Center. We also played UCLA, West Virginia, NC State, S. Illinois, and Western Michigan (they made the tourney that year) along with also playing in the Las Vegas Invitational and picking up games against Northwestern and Nevada. That's a good non-con schedule. Its a nationally relevant level schedule.
Not a bunch of games where we (hopefully) prove our dominance over SLU and SMS. If we were a serious program, its not that we wouldn't be afraid to play those games. Its that we wouldn't even care about those games.
