After being stung by his departure to Arky for a couple years, I really wish he would have stayed at Missouri. (I know that Arky is his home and that it was a job he could not pass up.)
I hope he crushes it at St. John's and I think he will.
I met the guy several times, although I'm absolutely sure he would not remember me. I was a student while he was the coach. Once or twice per week for nearly every week during the off season and during the season when the team was playing at home, Mike and his coaching staff would come over to the Student Rec center and play pick-up ball around noon. It was a blast. The whole staff were super nice. They were also pretty good at basketball, obviously.
