At the same time, guys like Norm lost their way years ago. Norm was completely out of touch with college basketball the last handful of years.
Post 1993, the only legitimate college players that Norm landed were:
Kendrick Moore and Troy Hudson - lost them both.
Jeff Hafer & Johnnie Parker - instate stars that did not have a laundry list of better options.
Albert White was a transfer.
Dooling and Gilbert - he only got Dooling because MU was the best offer that Gilbert had and they were going to be a package deal. And he was gong to lose them too.
In his last 5 recruiting classes, he had 7 viable Big 8/12 recruits. 2 quit on him. 2 more were going to quit on him. One was a huge disappointment. One was a solid role player. And the transfer was really good, but still left early when everybody knew he wouldn't get drafted.
