I choose "Best".
If getting to play a half a season is the worst that happens to these athletes as the result of worldwide chaos, likely recession and the death inducing virus, they can consider themselves lucky.
Life is not going to be perfect for any of us for the upcoming future and we will all make sacrifices. Playing just a half a season instead of a full one will be one of the athletes sacrifices.
Granting extra years of eligibility would result in too many complications.
