Cuonzo is not a great defensive-minded coach. He gets credit for having teams give up relatively few points per game, but that has more to do with his offense sitting on the ball the entire shot clock and limiting opponents' possessions than actually having a good defense.
From what i can see, teams don't really struggle to score on Cuonzo's defenses. Last year they gave up .999 points per possession. This year they're giving up .908. Neither of those put him in the upper tier of D1 program defenses.
So we can't really say "yeah his teams can't score but at least they play good defense." It's more accurate to say "his teams can't score or play defense but there's at least not much actual basketball to watch."
In unrelated news, there are plenty of tickets available for all remaining home games.
