Cuonzo Martin is a good fit for MU because he has local credibility at a time when recruiting credibility was non-existent, knows how to run a D1 program when our program needed someone to reinstill that, and the way our administration runs things the job requires someone who isn't morally corruptible or attempts to cut corners or they will land MU on significant probation. His Xs and Os skills come on the defensive end. You will probably remain unimpressed on the offensive end.
Brad Underwood is 41-44 overall at Illinois with the best conference finish to date of tied for 10th. He hasn't given them a good return on investment at all. Nor does Cuonzo make anywhere near $4M/per year, that is a made up metric. He is right about in the middle of SEC program salary, if anything MU is actually underpaying him if they actually cared about striving for excellence.
