They seem to like to pick up big contracts only via trade. Arenado is a no-brainer, only concern is his opt-out. But he apparently respects the Cardinals organization and its tradition. That really helps when the Cardinals acquire new players, but it's not effective any more to convince free agents to sign in STL.

I'd give up Gorman if necessary.
