This is a story without any heroes.
Kiffen left after his 1st and only season at Tenn.
He was fired in his 4th season as Trojan HC
Hayden did not speak to Kiffen for an hr...he had him come to a room at LAX ( the LA airport ) about 3 AM after the team charter landed and fired him immediately. There were sev. troubling behind the scenes incidents during Kiffen's time at USC that also contributed to his getting the heavo ho in addit. to the team's struggles on the field.
Hayden resigned as AD in Feb. of '16..effective June 30 '16..he then took over the renovation of the Coliseum, which was a $ 270 project as past of his new job in the USC admin.
After he did not elect to give Ed Orgeron the HC job to replace Kiffen..Hayden spent $ 750 grand on search for the new HC...and hired Steve Sarkesian, then UW HC, who had a well known substance abuse issues that eventually wrecked his regime at USC...no other candidates were seriously
considered.
