the player in that situation would still be eligible to play in the NBA that season and could be signed and start playing at any point during the college season? I still don't understand how that would make them ineligible for college, it would seem that they would be eligible until the immediate point they decided to become a professional player which would void their eligibility. Just seems weird that NBA collective bargaining can backwardly impact college eligibility when no parameters that void college eligibility have been violated.
