Mariah Lopez from OU. Will be the #1 pitcher almost anywhere she goes, with a few exceptions. She just got crowded out by the two transfers this year.
She would be a great get and make us a top 15-20 type team but is probably a long shot.
I’ve read recently numbers in the 500-600 range of softball players who entered the transfer portal this year. Does that sound right to other softball fans? Anyone have any other numbers to validate that? It seems like a lot but with about 280(?) D1 teams, it would be about 2 per team on average which doesn’t seem like a lot in that context.
