is finding a player that can defend multiple positions and stretch the floor offensively from the 5 is like finding a unicorn. It's generally either/or. A lot of teams have true 5's and if you get caught with a bunch of undersized 3's and 4's you will find yourself in a lot of bad defensive matchups.
If a player really has the ability to do what you are describing they will be off to the NBA after a year. If the rules change they might not even go to college.
There are 13 roster spots and you need at least someone that can play a more traditional 5. Even if they can't stretch the floor much or defend the perimeter. We already have a number of of combo forwards on the roster and on the recruiting radar.
