Softball pitching this weekend...

We have BYU and #14 Arizona back to back Thursday, then #2 UCLA on Friday, then #5 Washington and New Mexico St back to back on Saturday.
Will Coach LA go with anyone except Norman and Gasper starting these 5 games? I hope not. At least they are spaced out well, with whoever doesn’t start against UCLA getting an extra days rest. Unless we go with both against the Bruins.
My ceiling for this weekend is 3-2, with us winning the 50/50 games against BYU and NM State, and somehow finding a way to steal one win against one of the 3 highly ranked teams. I think the first two weeks of the season gives us a glimmer of hope that we can pull that off, with the way we thrashed a now #13 Arizona State team, and the way that Arizona has struggled, and Washington has let several teams stay close to them, and dropped a game to a good but unranked Notre Dame team.
It may come down to avoiding the ranked teams #1 pitcher, which would be fortunate. It’s likely we avoid UCLAs ace Rachel Garcia, as they play Oklahoma right before us on Friday. Washington plays Cal Fullerton right before us on Saturday, so we might miss Alvelo, although with her and Plain it’s pick your poison. We are Arizona’s first game Thursday, so we will likely draw their ace McQuillan.
