And the #4 and #5 pitchers have only thrown 5.2 innings in 10 games. I think it’s as simple as that.
We have 2 good options to throw against opponents with a pulse, and we are going to ride Norman and Gasper as far as they can take us. We should feel fortunate we have even that, as we kind of took a flyer on the 3 transfers we brought in and it looks like we got a keeper in Gasper.
Scates looked good in a start against a mediocre UMass team, I’m assuming she is going to be the 3rd option for now. I just don’t see the other 3 getting a lot of innings. If there was any weekend they could have, it was last weekend, against a very easy schedule (see Bruce, no C word). And they didn’t.
