Time for part 2 of the bowl picks…you can find part 1 on here if you want. Quick recap of the plays in part 1 followed by more bowl picks

NORTH TEXAS +8 (2 UNITS)
FRESNO STATE -4 (3 UNITS)
GEROGIA SOUTHERN -1 (2 UNITS)
UAB -2.5 (2 UNITS)
MARSHALL -2.5 (1 UNIT)
FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL +5.5 (1 UNIT)
WESTERN MICHIGAN +12 (2 UNITS)

BIRMINGHAM BOWL – MEMPHIS -5 vs WAKE FOREST (2 UNITS OVER 74) – I really could see this game going either way. Wake is better than people think but do have so problems on defense so I expect Henderson to have a big day on the ground. I also think Wake should have a big day as well as their offense has some weapons as well. I think the Demon Deacons will win a close shootout. WAKE FOREST 49 MEMPHIS 45

ARMED FORCES BOWL – ARMY -3 vs HOUSTON (2 UNITS) – I expect Army to be able to control the time of possession as they have all year and frustrate the Cougars. Ed Oliver is not playing here which I don’t blame him against an option team like Army. Also their QB King is still hurt as well. Houston will get a few big plays but it won’t be enough. An Army win here likely puts them finishing in the top 25. ARMY 35 HOUSTON 24

DOLLAR GENERAL – BUFFALO -3 vs TROY (1 UNIT)- Both teams are very solid well coached teams. This will basically be a home game for Troy though. The Bulls blew a huge lead in the MAC championship game to UNI so how will they respond after that disappointment. Troy has been here before so I give them a slight edge. TROY 31 BUFFALO 27

HAWAII BOWL – HAWAII -1 vs LOUISANA TECH (NO PLAY) – another home game for a bowl game here. I don’t trust either team as both have been up and down throughout the year. I have a slight lean to the home team here but am a little worried about the LT pass rush causing some turnovers by the Warriors. Honestly have no interest in betting this game. HAWAII 42 LOUISIANA TECH 38

FIRST RESPONDER BOWL - BOISE STATE -3 vs BOSTON COLLEGE (NO PLAY) – I think Boise is the more well rounded team here. Slightly better defense and a little more dynamic offense. BC dropped their final 3 games of the season and really seamed to run out of gas. Give me Boise here BOISE STATE 30 BOSTON COLLEGE 20

QUICK LANE BOWL – GEORGIA TECH -4 vs MINNESOTA (2 UNITS) – Paul Johnson’s last game as coach of GT here. Minnesota finished strong after changing defensive coordinators and picking up wins over Purdue and @ Wisconsin. Minnesota also has 6 players suspended…who they are is not certain. Minnesota has looked better on D but they still gave up 800 yards rushing to Nebraska and Illinois who also have running QB’s. Yellow Jackets send Johnson out with a bang. GEORGIA TECH 42 MINNESOTA 28

CHEEZ-IT BOWL – TCU PK vs CALIFORNIA (5 UNITS UNDER 47/1 UNIT TCU) – California has scored 17 or less 6 times this year. It won’t get easier going up against the Horned Frogs stingy defense. They have also played in 5 games that have totaled less than 42 points scored combined so their D is pretty good as well. TCU is no offensive juggernagut either scoring less than 20 6 times themselves, and in the Big 12 that is saying something. TCU 17 CALIFORNIA 13

INDEPENDENCE BOWL – TEMPLE -3.5 vs DUKE (2 UNITS) – Temple finished the year strong while the Blue Devils struggled down the stretch. Temple’s offense is very balanced and the Blue Devils offense has been anemic. Yes they lost their coach but if you saw the interm’s speech down in Shreveport, I think he will have them ready to play. TEMPLE 27 DUKE 13

TEXAS BOWL – VANDERBILT -4 vs BAYLOR (1 UNIT) – Vandy is simply the better team here. Vandy doesn’t turn it over +8…Baylor does -9. Vandy’s D should be solid and expect Schurmur should have a solid day. He goes out a winner….VANDERBILT 31 BAYLOR 23

PINSTRIPE BOWL – MIAMI -4 vs WISCONSIN (NO PLAY) – motivation will be the biggest factor here. Both teams have had very disappointing seasons, so who wants to be here will likely decide this one. I really don’t trust either team. Miami has the better defense but in the cold in New York will they be interested. I really have no idea here. WISCONSIN 24 MIAMI 23

MUSIC CITY – AUBURN -3.5 vs PURDUE (NO PLAY) – Auburn is a mess right now, while Purdue should be energized with Brohm staying at Purdue after turning down Louisville. Auburn clearly has the better D while Purdue clear has the better offense. I usually go with the better D but don’t feel good about it. AUBURN 27 PURDUE 24

CAMPING WORLD – WEST VIRGINIA -1.5 vs SYRACUSE (2 UNITS) – I was already leaning Syracuse here before the Grier news…so have to like them more now. WV doesn’t really have a good bowl history and I think the Orange will be fired up for this one. Road them all year…not going to stop now. SYRACUSE 42 WEST VIRGINIA 31

ALAMO BOWL – WASHINGTON STATE -3.5 vs IOWA STATE (NO PLAY)- Iowa State is well coached and has a pretty solid D that could give Wash State some trouble. The Cougars have struggled at times vs solid defenses (see Washington). Also, I’m not sure Iowa State is as good as people think though…they really haven’t beaten anyone all year long. I’ll take the air raid Cougars to win…WASHINGTON STATE 34 IOWA STATE 28
