“They’re guys who can make plays off the dribble. From A to B, wherever they are on the floor, they’re guys who can get to the basket. Both of those guys can get to the rim and make a play. That’s something that’s needed when you add shooters and guys who can do other things. When you’ve got guys who can get downhill and get to the rim, it opens things up for you. It’s another element to our offense.”
“What Mario does at his size, his quickness, (he has) the ability right now to be a tremendous on-ball defender, a guy that can slash and attack the rim, finish at the rim,” Martin said. “A willing passer. I just think his desire to be a good defensive player at this age, that’s a hard thing to do, to commit to playing defense at this point. But his high school coach and his team take pride in trying to be a good defensive team.”
