They can’t own guns to defend themselves, drugs and the drug trade is illegal so there’s a huge criminal underworld funded by the international drug trade, most government officials are corrupt, there is even more government intervention into the private sector than in us.

Basically they have less economic and social freedom which is why they want to come to the us. Same reason anyone emigrates.
