Tennessee wanted to get rid of him.
I know, I know... he reached the Sweet 16 his final year at Tennessee. It looks impressive on paper until you remember that UT barely snuck into the tournament, and his path to the S16 was through Mercer and UMass, due to lucky seeding and upsets that happened in previous rounds.
Before that lucky (and I do mean lucky) run to the S16, there were torches and pitchforks in Knoxville.
Wherever Cuonzo has been, the result have been the same: high floor (most years), but low ceiling.
