right now. Kemp may turn into a nice player. I hope he does. But whether it's him or a juco, neither guy was/is going to be a major difference maker. Kemp is going to be zero factor this season while a juco might have played a role. If we are able to recruit who we hope to recruit, Kemp may not be more than an 8th or 9th guy in the rotation before he's a senior. He might blossom, but there's no certainty. He might leave, but there's no certainty.
A juco could certainly be gone in 2 years opening up another spot for the '18 class.
I am not anti Kemp, and if you look back, I've spent some time defending him.
Those who completely ignore the issue of class balance simply boggle my mind. I covered the strategy to get out of this bind in another post.
