The fundamentals work regardless of athleticism. Look at what NBA teams like Golden State do. They space the floor, move the ball, and control the pace.
Or look at what Mizzou did in Haith's first year. They did the same thing.
This group isn't as good as those I listed, but can be greatly improved if they use those principles and have guys that can hit the open shots.
