It’s the position of the catcher that dictated the call.
The fielder needs to leave a clear lane for the baserunner. Julia began her position in a stance that left little or no room to get to the plate.
The rule is in place to prevent collisions, and so the fielder needs to set up in a position thats proper.
I would have preferred no throw to second base.
