tied to service probably. so an incoming freshman regardless of sports gets X dollars, maybe $30,000, then X + as a sophomore, and so on. i can't see mbb player getting more than a wbb player. but football over both might be workable. we'll have to see how it's negotiated.
i'm confident pay to play is coming as a settlement of the house v. ncaa case. how they pay former players is going to be interesting. i've read this will cost programs ~$20 million/year at the elite levels. $30k x 400 athletes = $12M.
